The 5th Annual Elevator Pitch Competition, hosted by the Duke Start-Up Challenge commenced with an eventful round of pitches from the Women-led startups track and the Social Enterprises track. Hosted by Meghan Gallagher (Fuqua ’11) and Jonathan Lee (Fuqua '11) at the Fuqua School of Business, 20 student teams pitched their startup ideas to mark the first day of competition among aspiring entrepreneurs throughout Duke University.
The Duke Start-up Challenge held its 5th Annual Elevator Pitch Finals at the Fuqua School of Business in front of an audience of about 400 to 450. This year's special guest speaker was David Thacker '97
The Duke Start-Up Challenge is an entrepreneurship competition at Duke University that runs the course of the academic year, from November to April. The competition includes an Elevator Pitch Competition in November, a full business plan submission in February, and a live finals event in April, with multiple teams winning cash and prizes throughout the competition for the best submissions.
